Are you feeling frustration about your puppy’s nipping? Is the nipping causing you pain? Do you feel that you want to relax, and your puppy is just wanting to nip you all of the time? You are not alone, and many people feel this way when they get a new puppy. We are happy to help you with your dog training. Salt Lake City has given us plenty of experience dealing with this issue with many puppies. We want to stop that puppy nipping for you.
1.) Don’t give your puppy attention when he nips you. Say “ouch” then remove attention from your puppy. You can do this by walking away, turning your back, ending playtime, etc.
2.) When you pet your puppy, have a fun toy in your hand that he will love. If the toy is appealing enough, your puppy will want to chew on this rather than your hand.
3.) Give your puppy attention when he is not nipping you.
4.) Be consistent. Creating an obedient puppy takes practice and repetition. In time, you will be successful with your dog training. Salt Lake City also has many professionals for you to consult if you need additional training support. We highly recommend that you use choose a reward-based dog trainer.
We want to hear from you in a comment below.
Are the above tips working for you? How else can we help you?
