We totally understand what it is like to struggle with a barking dog. Barking can be loud and obnoxious. It can make it hard for you to concentrate and be calm. Barking is just overall frustrating.
We have good news! It doesn’t have to be frustrating. Let’s create more peace of mind now!
Sure part of dog training is stopping your dog’s bad behavior. However, it is not the only part of dog training. Salt Lake City is a prime example of teaching us this. We have many courses that you can take that will teach you how your mindset is contributes to your success with your dog.
What if your dog could be barking, and you felt calm about it? You might be thinking why you would want to do this. Well your thoughts affect your actions.
Let’s give a human example. My daughter cries and she feels upset. Maybe it is from a “no” that she didn’t like. I can create a lot of meaning behind that crying. Meaning that could actually escalate the situation. I see parents do this all of the time.
The meaning could be “It is not that big of a deal that you can’t have that.” It could also be “You are so annoying when you cry, so just shut up.” Etc. If I choose one of the above or something like that then I will probably yell at my daughter which definitely won’t calm the situation.
The same is true is for your dog. What if you took away the meaning or the thoughts that you have about your barking dog? If you just realize that barking has no meaning and that your dog is plain barking then you can react differently.
You may remember that all you need to do is train your dog to be more quiet. Then you get out your clicker and begin dog training. Salt Lake City has many conscious people who can help remind you to take away the meaning and see that really your dog is just barking.
Really my daughter is just crying. Her crying has no meaning. I can be present and loving with that. Then I can teach her healthy ways to move through or express her sadness.
Get empowered with your dog training. Sat Lake City is where we take many clients, and we can support you with this concept if you need help.
Namaste!
