Four Legged Scholars LLC – SLC Puppy Training
Are you stressed because you never know when your puppy needs to potty? Let’s remove that stress and create certainty for you.
The best way to do this is to teach your puppy to ring a bell. Your puppy can choose to ring the bell to let you know that he needs to go outside to relieve himself.
Ginger, a cocker spaniel, learned how to do this with SLC puppy training. It helped relieve tons of stress for her owner because she knew when Ginger needed to go outside.
The first step is to teach your puppy to ring a bell. Get a strand of bells on a piece of fabric. You should be able to find them at a pet store.
Take the strand and hold it in your hand. When your dog touches the strand with his nose c/t (click and treat).
Eventually, your dog will start ringing it more and more often to get a reward. This is how SLC puppy training works.
Start being selective and only ring louder rings so that you can ensure to hear the bell. Then start adding a command right before your puppy rings the bell.
Next, hang the bell on the door or hold the bell near the door. Use the command and when your dog rings the bell c/t.
Keep the bell off of the door but put it on the door right before it is potty time. Command your dog to ring the bell and take your dog out to potty.
Once you feel that your SLC puppy training is working, leave the bell on the door at all times.
At first, your puppy may want to ring the bell frequently. Only let your puppy out to potty and do not let him play until after he potties.
Let him learn that the bell is about potty not about playing outside.
Of course, if you need help, we can help you with SLC puppy training too and come to your home.
