Are you struggling with getting your puppy listen to you? This is a common problem because puppies definitely have a mind of their own.
We understand the stress. Let’s help get your puppy to listen now.
I wanted to share with you a secret that most dog trainers don’t talk about. I have noticed a common pattern throughout the years of puppy training (Salt Lake City).
I am at the owner’s house. Their puppy doesn’t listen and the owner usually does one of two things a.) hesitates which looks like a freeze. b.) or yells and becomes more intense. Both reactions don’t usually result in a puppy that listens. In fact, the owners generally get more frustrated.
There is a simple too that you can start using right away before you work with a professional Salt Lake City puppy trainer. Breath.
Yep, that simple. Some of you do yoga. Yoga breathing is what I am referring to. So breathing through your belly and not your chest. This kicks in the parasympathetic nervous system which is the relaxation response.
When you are relaxed you are less reactive and act from a place of clear decision.
Yelling at your puppy for chewing on your shoes does nothing except cause fear or aggressive problems in the future. If you notice you want to yell, stop, breath and then act from a place of clarity.
Start practicing this now. Notice how your response changes when you are puppy training. Salt Lake City owners will be impressed how easy this can be.
Your puppy will definitely listen and respond better to you if you are more relaxed 🙂
